How could it be possible that the NIT bosses were unaware of the illegal parking stands issuing parking tickets in the name of NIT itself.
Nagpur News: The innocent Nagpur citizens are not aware that they are being cheated and robbed of lakhs and lakhs in a broad daylight. Some gangs have been found recovering hefty parking charges in the name of the Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) across the city. The ground reality is, the NIT has not given any parking contract to anybody at all. Now, after coming to know about the parking fraud, the outraged citizens have demanded the NIT to stop the looting and initiate criminal proceedings against the gangs.
It may be recalled, the parking stands have been opened at Variety Square, in front of Apna Bhandar, below Flyover, Eternity Mall, Sakkardara, Itwari, Cotton Market, LIC Square, Medical Square, Dhantoli, Badkas Chowk, Mor Bhavan, Ravi Nagar, and at other crowded places for the “help” of citizens. The parking stand men issue tickets in the range Rs 10-50 in accordance with the size of the vehicle. However, the most shocking fact of all these parking stands is, the ticket bears the name of Nagpur Improvement Trust. Thousands of vehicles have been parked daily at the parking stands across the city. Thus the “owners” of the illegal parking stands have been pocketing lakhs and lakhs on the daily basis.

When the Nagpur Today contacted the Executive Engineer of NIT (West) Sonawane for his comments on the issue, he said, “As far as my knowledge is concerned, the NIT is neither running the parking stands nor any person is given the contract to run them. If any person is running the parking stands in the name of the NIT, he would be prosecuted in accordance with the law. The citizens should also remain alert and should give written complaints to Chairman, NIT in this connection.”
Now, the focus turns very crucial questions. If the NIT is not running the parking stands across the city then who is the kingpin or the mastermind running them? Who is or are looting the citizens in daylight? Why no action from the Government agencies like police, NMC, and the NIT itself? Is the bounty being shared with the concerned authorities? Are the gangs, running the illegal parking stands, being blessed by the politicians?
The answers to these pointed posers are lying with the concerned Government agencies or bigwig politicians!!
