Gang planning dacoity busted in Pachpaoli, 4 arrested

Nagpur: Pachpaoli police foiled an imminent dacoity by arresting a gang of four armed robbers hiding in a secluded place behind Mehandibagh Power House in the wee hours of Saturday. Cops have seized swards, iron rods, nylon rope and other materials from their possession. A fifth member of the gang managed to flee from the spot and being searched.

A squad of Pachpaoli police led by DCP Zone 3 Rahul Maknikar was on patrol duty and searching for wanted criminals on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday. Around 1.30 am of Saturday, the cops received secret information that a gang of 5 persons had assembled at an isolated place behind Mehandibagh Power House. Acting on the information, the cops rushed to the spot and surrounded the gang members.

Cops detained four members, however one member managed to flee the spot.

The accused have been identified as Anand Mishri Mate (37), resident of Thakkargram Mata Mandir, Dhanraj Devaji Bihade (34) resident of Kurhadkarpeth, Rakesh Ratnakar Gaikwad (39) of Siddharth Nagar, Teka, and Gopal Kishor Bhaisare (24) resident of Jyoti Nagar. The absconding accused has been identified as Kishore Khare, resident of Thakkargram under the jurisdiction of Pachpaoli police.

All the accused have been booked under Sections 399, 402 of the Indian Penal Code read with Sections 3+25, 4+25 of Arms Act and Section 135 of Maharashtra Police Act and placed under arrest.

Pachpapoli Senior PI Ashok Meshram, API S S Suroshe, PSIs Ingle, Ramteke, Sisode, constables Raju Avasti, Gajanan Nishitkar, Vijay Lade and Sachin Sonwane played key role in the arrest of the robbers.
