Nagpur: Union Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari on Saturday distributed various materials and facilities to a number of handicapped persons. The materials and facilities distributed include AK Prosthesis, BK Prosthesis, Fro, Knee Braces, CP Chairs, Commode Chairs, Calipers, Shoes, Walkers, Splints, Creches etc. The materials were sponsored by Nagpur Municipal Corporation under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (Integrated Education Scheme). The programme was held at Shikshak Sahakari Bank Hall, Gandhisagar, Mahal.
Congratulating the NMC for this venture, Gadkari said “Service to poor people is service to God. Swami Vivekanand served the weeklong with an aim of uplifting the society. Following the ideals of Swami Vivekanand, the NMC and Deen Dayal Upadhyay Institure are serving the viklang for giving them support and making them self-sufficient. This service deserves appreciation and I am proud to part of it,” said Gadkari.
A total 224 viklang beneficiaries, including 140 in the age group of 0-18 years, were distributed the materials.
