Fumed over no yield in his alcohol test, man roughs up constable at LIC Square, arrested

A man was arrested for verbally abusing and then getting into a physical argument with a police constable at LIC Square in Sadar here on Sunday night. Christopher D’Souza, 42, a resident of Ambazari Layout, was reportedly angry over no yield in his breath analyzing, tested for consumption of alcohol. When the result showed no alcohol content in his body, he started hurling abuses at the constable Chakravarty and also thrashed him. His contention was that he was stopped for no fault of him.

Police sources said Christopher was approaching towards his home yesterday night at around 8.30 pm when he was intercepted at LIC square. After he was subjected to breath analyser it turned out that he was not drunk. Later Christopher vented his ire on the constable who put him to test.

Later police arrested Christopher under section 353, 294 IPC, upon complaint of constable Chakravarty.
