Fresh IIM students like lush greens of Nagpur campus at VNIT ; All 60 seats filled

iim-nNagpur: It was new dawn in the history of Nagpur when the maiden academic session of Indian Institute of Management-Nagpur (IIM-N) 2015-16 kickstarted on Thursday with 60 students registering themselves at the premier institute. The regular classes are expected to start from Saturday or Monday. The students, who are mostly from outstation, are in awe of the greenery on the campus. The students” hostel is equipped with all the modern facilities.

On the first day of the first academic session, the students reached the IIM-N’s campus at VNIT. The IIM-N administration has already made arrangements for the lodging and other facilities of students. The registration started from 8.30 am. Some of the students had arrived in the city on Wednesday itself.

In the afternoon, an orientation programme was conducted for the students. Students from different parts of the country have taken admission in the IIM-N, filling up all the 60 seats.

“Even though the Nagpur IIM has been just established, it has already become the one of the most sought-after academic institutions in the country because of its central location and also for the fact that IIM-Ahmedabad is its mentor,” said administration in-charge, IIM-N, Lt Col Makarand Aloor. For the time being, the classes will be held at the civil engineering branch of VNIT.
