Four goons relieve two persons of their booty in road robberies in city areas; two arrested

robbersNagpur: In waylaying incidents, four criminals robbed two persons in different areas of the city on Friday night. Two of the accused robbers have been arrested.

In the first incident, the victim Anil Govindrao Govardipe (32), resident of Village Nimji, Tahsil Kalmeshwar, District Nagpur, was on Friday coming to city on his Splendour Motorcycle (MH-40/AB 5156). When Anil reached near Raju Dhaba on Amravati Highway around 10.10 pm, the two accused Shubham Santosh Chavan (21) and Avinash Dilip Chaudhary (20-26 years), both residents of 8th Mile, Movade Layout, Nagpur, riding on a motorcycle (MH-40/AA 8944), came from behind and stopped Anil. The accused whipped out a knife and then forcibly snatched Rs 1,000 from Anil and sped away.

Wadi PSI Kharsan, based on a complaint filed by Anil Govardipe, booked the two accused robbers Shubham Santosh Chavan and Avinash Dilip Chaudhary under Sections 392, 34 of the IPC and succeeded in arresting them.

Similarly, another victim Rajdeep Madhav Boras (24), resident of Plot No. 303, Bhagyashri Layout, Nagpur, was talking on his mobile near Praseal Traders, Trimurti Nagar at about 8.50 pm on Friday. At the same time two unidentified robbers came there on a black-coloured motorcycle and snatched Rajdeep’s Samsung mobile phone worth Rs 8,000 and sped away.

Pratap Nagar PSI, acting on the complaint of Rajdeep, booked the two unidentified robbers under Sections 392, 34 of the IPC and searching for them.
