Nagpur: The Ambazari police have booked former pro-vice-chancellor (Pro-VC) of Nagpur University, Gourishanker Parasher, and dean of interdisciplinary studies, Dr Rajashree Vaishnav, for sexual harassment following a complaint lodged by a 28-year-old woman on Saturday.
Cops said the survivor has claimed that Vaishnav used to coerce female students to ‘gratify’ Parasher in order to score more marks in dissertations.According to the statement given to police by the complainant, mother of two girls, she pursued MEd between 2015 and 2017.
The batch consisted of four boys and 15 girls.
On July 2, 2016, Vaishnav was appointed head of department (HoD).
Survivor was allotted Vaishnav as dissertation guide.The survivor claimed that Vaishnav introduced her to Parasher who used to be a regular visitor to the Hod’s cabin.
