Gedam married Iwnate’s daughter just three months ago.

A 27-year-old Guruprasad Gedam, son-in-law of former mayor and BJP corporator Mayatai Iwnate, was knocked dead in a road accident on Mankapur over bridge on Thursday evening.
Gedam, a resident of Guguldoha in Ramtek, was on his way to Jaripatka when he was knocked down by a speeding truck. Gittikhadan police, who investigated the spot, told that the truck driver hit Gedam’s bike and he came under the real wheels. He was crushed to death on the spot.
Cops informed that he was riding pillion holding a gas stove on a bike driven by another relative. His death has triggered tension on the over bridge until the accused driver was arrested. Police has booked him for his negligence causing death.
