Former cop’s body found in GMCH premises

A former cop, who had turned into a vagabond since after been dismissed from his duty, was found dead in the premises of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on Monday morning.
Earlier, Ajni police has reported the deceased as an unidentified. Later, police found a medical discharge card and some phone numbers on it from his pant pockets. On contacting the phone numbers, police came to know about his identity as Praful Nimje, aged 50.
His younger brother told police that an unmarried Nimje, who was posted as a constable at police head quarter, was dismissed five years ago for making some blunder during duty hours.
Since then, he would stay anywhere in the premises of GMCH. Police informed that the paper found from his pockets indicates that he was suffering from illness. His body was found near the Dental department.
Police are waiting for the post mortem reports to report the exact cause for his death. A case of an accidental death has been registered.
