However, this plot was a property of Nagpur Municipal Corporation. NMC has taken possession of this property soon. Then the victim Mushtaq demanded his money back from Shahnawaz. Shahnawaz was dilly-dallying in reimbursing the money back to Mushtaq. When Mushtaq Ashrafi increased the pressure in demanding his money back, then Shahnawaz spoke to a goon named Aabu of Taj Bagh to mediate on his behalf and to get some more time to reimburse the amount.

Shahnawaz somehow convinced the victim and told him that he will show a new alternate plot for sale in lieu of the old plot sale in Gorewada. He then took the victim towards Kamptee.

However, some 5-6 goons sitting inside the Travera vehicle started misbehaving with the victim Mushtaq. Sources claimed that Mushtaq seemed to be overpowering the goons. Soon on receiving a signal from Shahnawaz, the bodyguard of Shahnawaz Raju Takla shot the victim in his leg. Fearing for his life, Mushtaq broke the window glass and jumped out of the Travera and after jumping over the Transport Plaza wall, reached the Yashodhara Police Station. After filing a complaint, the police admitted the victim in Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (Mayo) for treatment to the bullet injury.
