Fire Breaks Out in Mumbai’s Trident Hotel at Nariman Point, no Casualties Reported so Far

Mumbai: A fire broke out in Trident Hotel at Nariman Point in Mumbai on Wednesday night. Firefighting engines have been pressed into service. No casualties have been reported as of now.

The cause of the fire is not known yet.

More details awaited.

Earlier this evening, a fire broke out at ESIC Kamgar Hospital in Mumbai‘s Andheri which was doused off later. Two days back, fire at the same hospital left at least eight dead including a two-month-old baby.

A total of 176 persons, including three firemen, had to be treated in city hospitals as per a report from the Disaster Management Unit of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

According to reports, the fire was caused by a suspected short-circuit and was first noticed on the upper floors of the five-storied building with a glass facade in the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) area — the industrial hub in the north-western suburb — around 4.15 PM on December 17.
