Nagpur: A father-son duo was arrested on the charges of abetting a young girl to commit suicide over love affair.
The deceased, Vaishali Jaichand Songade (20), resident of Neri Mankar in Hingna jurisdiction, ended her life around 3.30 pm on Tuesday, November 28. Vaishali poured kerosene on her person and set her ablaze in her house. Hingna police at that time registered a case of accidental death and launched a probe into the matter from all angles.
During the investigation, it came to the fore that the deceased Vaishali had love affair with Aniket, son of Suresh Ramchandra Kasture (48), resident of the same locality. Suresh vehemently objected to the love affairs between his son and Vaishali. Around 3.30 pm on Tuesday, Suresh reportedly called Vaishali and threatened her to stay away from Aniket. Moreover, Suresh and his other son Rajat Kasture thrashed Vaishali severely and insulted her. The beating and insult left the young girl devastated. She immediate came to her house and poured kerosene on her person and set herself ablaze. She died on the spot.
Based on the probe report and a complaint lodged by Jaiwantabai Jaichand Songade (42), mother of deceased Vaishali, Hingna API Niswade booked the accused father son duo under Sections 306, 34 of the IPC and arrested them.
