FAM delegation meets CM over status of LBT abolition

Convener of Federation of Associations of Maharashtra (FAM) Dipen Agrawal led the Action Plan Panel with Trade representatives of 26 Corporations.

A delegation of FAM led by Dipen Agrawal Convenor FAM Action Plan Panel consisting of trade representatives from all 26 Corporations across the state called upon Honorable Chief Minister Shri Devender Fadnavis on Monday at Mantralaya Mumbai.

Present in the meeting along with Chief minister were Shri Sudhir Mungatiwar Finance Minister GoM , Shri Rajan Patil Minister of State for Urban Development , Shri Sudhir Shrivastav Finance Secretary , Shri Nitin Karir Secretary UD – 1!, Smt Manisha Mahaiskar Secretary UD- 2 , Shri Praveen Pardesi Principal Secretary CMO & Shri Milind Mahaiskar  Secretary – CMO .

Arun Doshi – VP FAM presented a floral bouquet to CM on behalf of FAM & trading community of the state.

Dipen Agrawal informed Honorable Chief Minister that the 65 member delegation has representation from all 26 Corporations and they are here to hear from the horses mouth what has the government decided about abolishing of LBT & Octroi from the state & what is the alternative that government is envisaging in lieu of LBT & Octroi , he also thanked CM & the state government for clearing the air on applicability of local taxes when GST is implemented by central government in 2016 by virtue of cancellation of section 52 by which central government empowers state government to levy local taxes.

Devender Fadnavis said that his government is positive & committed for abolishing of LBT & Octroi from the state and shortly announcement to effect this would be made. Further he assured the delegation that the alternative being worked out in lieu of LBT & Octroi is on the lines of proposed alternative by FAM & trading community of state and he appealed to the delegation to have a little more patience till the Budget of State government because the budget is in preparation he can not give more details at this given point of time.

While welcoming above statement & positivity of CM & state government in the matter Dipen Agrawal appealed the CM to consider offering an Amnesty Scheme to traders granting immunity against interest & penalty if Lbt dues are paid further he submitted written undertaking by apex associations of all 25 cities were LBT has been imposed reiterating the same.

CM agreed to the suggestion & immediately instructed Smt. Manisha Mahaiskar Secretary UD-2 to prepare a draft in accordance with the request made to float a Onetime Special Amnesty Scheme for LBT .

Raju Rathi from Sholapur thanked CM for abolishing escort fee from Sholapur.

CM was given a standing ovation at the conclusion of satisfying meeting by present trade representatives from all 26 corporations.
