Nagpur:
State BJP President Devendra Fadnavis hit back at Congress leader Vilas Muttemwar for his statement against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s stand on Maharashtra with those of Nitin Gadkari and Fadnavis on the issue of Vidarbha. “Muttemwar is trying to give a different colour to Prime Minister’s stand that Maharashtra would not be divided. In fact, Modi, while addressing a public meeting in Nagpur, had declared that no power on earth can separate Mumbai from Maharashtra. His response was in connection with some political leaders claiming conspiracy to break Maharashtra in pieces,” said Fadnavis while castigating Muttemwar.

“BJP’s stand on smaller states is based on principles. BJP is in favour of creation of smaller states. The smaller states like Jharkhand, Uttarakhand and Chhattisgarh were formed only by BJP. Our party does not break states but creates states. But Congress party breaks state and the example is Telangana, People are clever to understand this difference,” asserted Fadnavis and added that Congress and Muttemwar have no clear views on separate Vidarbha.

However, it would be interesting to see the next move of Fadnavis and Gadkari on Vidarbha since people of Vidarbha have clearly displayed a want for separate Vidarbha.
