Elderly woman commits suicide, another dies of illness

Nagpur: Frustrated with illness an elderly woman committed suicide while another elderly woman died of brief illness on Wednesday under the jurisdiction of Sonegaon and Kalamna police station areas.

In the first incidence, a 65-year-old woman committed suicide on Wednesday at around 8 am. The deceased has been identified as Parvatabai Babulal Ahake (65), a resident of Anand Nagar, Plot No. 35, near Hanuman Mandir. According to information, Parvatabai was suffering from mouth cancer for past sometime. However, she was frustrated with the increasing pain and thus she decided to quit her life. Thus, on Wednesday she jumped in a well near her house and ended her life. Her family members informed Sonegaon police and fished out her body.

Cops performed panchanama and sent the body to Government Medical College and Hospital for autopsy and registered a case of accidental death.

Another elderly woman died on Wednesday after she was admitted to Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital with complaints of consistent Blood pressure and sugar problem. The deceased has been identified as Vimal Pundalikrao Shastrakar (70), a resident of Rambhoomi Society, Pardi.

As per information, Vimal was suffering from Blood Pressure and Sugar problems. With ageing, her patience to suffer the pain decreased. She was admitted to Government Medical College and Hospital for treatment. However, she died on Wednesday during treatment. Kalamna police registered a case of accidental death.
