Nagpur: The residents’ of East Nagpur gheraod Chairman of Nagpur Improvement Trust Shyam Wardhane over many issues like demand to cancel the reservation of DP Road (planned before 1980) of Bharatwada and Pardi, long-pending construction of Multipurpose Hall (BOT Basis) at Wardhaman Nagar, near INOX and the issue of regularization and development of 572 and 1900 layouts in East Nagpur. These issues were raised by a delegation led by City Congress General Secretary Advocate Abhijit Wanjari on April 13, 2015.
Advocate Wanjari claimed that the responsibility of most of the areas in East Nagpur falls within the jurisdiction of Nagpur Improvement Trust. The working pattern and execution of planned objectives by the staff of Nagpur Improvement Trust seems to be lethargic and non-committal. As a result of which many areas in East Nagpur have not seen development measures at all. Since the development of these areas is not being done, many allied problems and woes abound. Some of these include crime, health issues etc.
Advocate Wanjari informed Chairman of Nagpur Improvement Trust Shyam Wardhane that there are thousands of houses situated in Bharatwada and Pardhi areas. These houses exist for the last 35-40 years. The development plan that was made before 1980, showed the reservation for many roads. However, these roads were never made or laid for the last 35-40 years. There are many houses have come up or constructed on the land reserved for road. The development work that should have taken place in this place never took place since there exist a reservation.
Since these houses are being built or made on the reserved land, even banks including Nationalized Banks too refuse loans for construction. The Dilution Committee of the State Government had conducted a survey and had started a process to cancel the reservation. Since the process is incomplete, the matter is pending for a long time.
Advocate Wanjari asked Chairman of Nagpur Improvement Trust Shyam Wardhane that he considers the problems with compassion and resolve the matter in the interest of the affected people of the area.
Advocate Wanjari also requested Chairman of Nagpur Improvement Trust Shyam Wardhane to complete the long pending construction of Multipurpose Hall (BOT Basis) at Wardhaman Nagar so that the local residents can avail the services of the Hall.
Advocate Wanjari also asked Wardhane to seriously consider the issue of regularization and development of 572 and 1900 layouts in East Nagpur.
