Dy CM Sunetra Pawar inaugurates State-level Kabaddi meet at Koradi

Nagpur: Deputy Chief Minister and Sports Minister of Maharashtra Sunetra Pawar observed that with advancement of technology, the sport of kabaddi needs to adopt new technologies to promote and survive at international level.

Pawar was speaking during the inauguration of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Cup State-Level Kabaddi Tournament on Thursday. The tournament is organised jointly by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Services, Nagpur Division, Amateur Kabaddi Association of Vidarbha and Nagpur Rural Kabaddi Association at Sevanand Vidyalaya, Koradi.

Pawar congratulated the players and said, “kabaddi is a masculine sport from the soil of Maharashtra and it shows the best combination of strength, strategy and agility. This tournament is not just a sport but a symbol of culture, discipline and team spirit.” She also informed that a new sports policy is being formulated in the State to increase sports facilities, provide jobs, insurance and encouragement to the players.
