Nagpur: The first edition of Inter Corporate Cricket Tournament for President’s Cup was held in the sprawling campus of Delhi Public School (DPS) MIHAN on Sunday, January 29, 2023.
Dr. Amit Samarth, the Bicycle Mayor of Nagpur graced the occasion as Chief Guest of the event. Nidhi Yadav, Principal DPS MIHAN, welcomed the guests by presenting saplings which is the tradition of the school. In her welcome address, she expressed her gratitude for the benign presence of Dr. Amit Samarth and emphasized that he is a perfect role model for health and fitness. She also highlighted the vision of President and Pro Vice Chairperson Tulika Kedia who ensures the best of sporting facilities are provided to the students for holistic education and for psycho-socio development.
The Principal Nidhi Yadav also thanked the Director Savita Jaiswal for her constant guidance and support. Dr. Amit Samarth in his speech, appreciated the sporting facilities and encouragement given by the school for the development of sporting culture amongst the students. He stressed on forming cycle and athletics club for physical development and endurance of the students.
Eight teams participated to win the coveted trophy. Persistent Systems Ltd won the final by defeating Mahindra Bloomdale by 9 wickets and lifted the Inter Corporate Cricket Tournament for President’s Cup. Surendra Dubey of Persistent Systems Ltd. was adjudged Man of The Tournament for his consistent batting and scoring 135 runs with two half centuries.
