DPS MIHAN MAKES A SPLASH WITH INTER-SCHOOL SWIMMING MEET

Delhi Public School, MIHAN, Nagpur hosted its 2nd Inter-School Swimming Championship, AQUA QUEST – The Golden Lane Challenge, in its state-of-the-art natatorium on 6th September 2026.

The event, a confluence of aquatic excellence and institutional pride, was graced by Chief Guest, Mr Yash Gulhane, an International Long-distance Swimmer and recipient of a bronze medal in 100m Breaststroke at Zirk Swim Cup 2026, Estonia, and Mr Anunay Kedia, an alumnus of the London School of Economics, as the Guest of Honour. Mr Roshan Choudhary, Secretary of Aquatic Association, Nagpur, was also present on the occasion.

President and Pro Vice Chairperson of DPS MIHAN and Kamptee Road, Ms Tulika Kedia, and Director, Ms Savita Jaiswal, whose visionary leadership and guidance have been instrumental in shaping the institution, joined the opening ceremony online and extended heartfelt wishes to the participants and organisers, lauding the grand initiative as a watershed moment for aquatic sports in the region.

The programme commenced with a warm and gracious formal welcome by the Principal, Ms Nidhi Yadav, who highlighted the school’s vision of academic excellence and holistic development of its students. The Guest of Honour encouraged the young athletes to embrace sportsmanship, perseverance, and the joy of competition. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest expressed that he wholeheartedly empathised with the myriad of emotions experienced by the competitors during those intense moments of the race and motivated them.

The audience was apprised of the glorious tapestry of the athletic triumphs by the anchors, Ms Raisa Dandeva and Mst Abhijay Ghormode, underscoring the school’s commitment to sculpting robust and resilient champions. A zealous Orchestra performance by melody explorers -the School Band was a mellifluous interlude, a symphony of youthful harmony that captivated the gathering.

With great aplomb, the Chief Guest declared the meet open. More than 270 students from various schools in the city participated in the electrifying event, held in its mini-sized Olympic pool, with tremendous enthusiasm. The aquatic events unfolded as a mesmerising spectacle, showcasing discipline, agility, and teamwork by swimming enthusiasts in Butterfly, Freestyle, the thrilling Relay 4×25 and 4×50 and Breaststroke events in Under 10,12,15, and 18 age categories.

Parents, teachers, and guests applauded the confidence and enthusiasm of the swimmers. The beaming victors were awarded medals and certificates. Principal Ms Nidhi Yadav expressed gratitude to the esteemed Aquatic Association of Nagpur and the indefatigable Sports Faculty whose synergistic efforts transformed the event into a magnificent success.
