On the complaint filed by parents of dowry victim Tarannum Shaik, who had committed suicide with her 9-year-old daughter Zainab Fatima on Tuesday night, Sakkardara police has booked the deceased’s husband Firoz Shaik, 30 and her in-laws, Gulab Shabeer, 55, Khursheed Shabeer, 52, Mohammad Waseem, 27, Tabassum Sabeer 19, all residents of Aashirwad Nagar for abetment of suicide and dowry death.
The complaint was filed by Tarannum’s father Mohammad Shafi, a resident of Kuhi. He claimed in his complaint that though he had given Rs 3 lakh cash as dowry at the time of marriage, Shaikh and his parents were demanding Rs 5 lakh cash and three acre land to start a goat farm. However, when Tarannum refused to meet their dowry demand, Shaikh and her in-laws started torturing her.
Till Wednesday night, police arrested all the accused from their residence. Police has also booked Tarannum for murder of her 9-year-old daughter Zainab Fatima
