District Administration reaps Rs 6.90 crore in e-auctions of 17 sand ghats

Nagpur: The District Administration on Tuesday fetched “handsome” money in the e-auctions of sand ghats in Nagpur District. According to District Collector Sachin Kurve, bidding for 31 sand ghats was done on Tuesday. 17 sand ghats fetched the maximum bidding with the administration earning the revenue of Rs 6.90 crore against the base rate of Rs 4.94 crore. It means the bidding witnessed an increase of 139 percent, Kurve added.

The sand ghats that fetched the maximum bidding include Khairi Nallah, Umri Nallah in Saoner Taluka, Vadhna, Mohadi, Govri, Mahalgaon, Kondamendhi, Indora, Morgaon in Mauda Taluka, Chikna, Bhamewada, Varegaon in Kamptee Taluka, Chichghat in Kuhi Taluka, Sihora, Pardi, Saholi in Parsheoni Taluka, and Thadpaoni, Naigaon Thakre in Narkhed, the District Collector said.

Kurve further said that from October 1, 2016, the sand will be available in huge quantity in Nagpur District.
