Mumbai: Speculation is mounting in political circles that Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis may be appointed to the BJP’s Central Parliamentary Board. The discussion has gained momentum amid Fadnavis’s increasing political activity in Delhi. However, the BJP has not yet officially confirmed his appointment.

The Central Parliamentary Board holds a highly significant position in the BJP’s decision-making process. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh are among the party’s senior leaders who are members of the board. Nitin Gadkari previously represented Maharashtra on the Central Parliamentary Board. Since then, no major leader from the state has been given a place on the board. Fadnavis’s appointment could therefore once again strengthen Maharashtra’s representation in the BJP’s national organisation.
