Nagpur: City-based educationalist Deepak Bajaj has once again moved Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court for bail on health grounds. Earlier, his bail plea was rejected by the sessions court here. On Tuesday, the court issued notice to Maharashtra government on his plea. Currently, he is behind bars for allegedly having assets disproportionate to known sources of income.

Earlier, his plea for regular bail was categorically rejected by justice Sunil Shukre in September last year while tersely observing that he prima facie committed the offences that are of high magnitude having adverse impact on the education society in which people repose their trust for turning their children into responsible citizens.

Bajaj was accused of having disproportionate assets and misusing his position as principal of Mahatma Gandhi Centennial School. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) had booked him and his wife Veena under Prevention of Corruption Act while Jaripatka police booked them under various sections of IPC.
