NAGPUR: In a major preventive action against habitual offenders, Nagpur Police have ordered the externment of five criminals, including three members of the Shibu gang, from the district. The orders were issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Rashmita Rao of Zone 4 as part of efforts to curb criminal activities and maintain law and order.

Four of the accused have been externed for two years, while one has been ordered to remain outside the district for six years.

Sebastian alias Shibu Rafael Anthony, 32, Sachin Pradeep Wasnik, 35, of Jatatrodi-Indiranagar, and Abhishek Ravindra Borkar, 30, have been externed for two years. Police said serious cases including murder, attempt to murder, assault, threats, extortion and kidnapping have been registered against the three.

According to police, their continued criminal activities had created an atmosphere of fear in the area. Despite preventive action, there was no significant improvement in their conduct. The Imambada Police prepared an externment proposal and submitted it to senior officers, following which DCP Rashmita Rao issued the orders.

Lucky Externed for Six Years

Priyanshu alias Lucky Mohan Thakare, 21, a resident of Rambagh, has been externed from the district for six years. Police said he faces serious charges including attempt to murder, assault and preparation to commit robbery.

Ravi Externed for Two Years

Ravi alias Rishi Bhaurao Hadke, 24, from Untkhana, has also been externed for two years. Cases involving robbery, attempt to murder, molestation, theft and assault have been registered against him.

Police said Hadke continued his criminal activities despite preventive measures, prompting authorities to take externment action against him.

The five accused have now been barred from entering the district for the specified periods. The action is being seen as a strong message that strict preventive measures will be taken against habitual offenders who pose a threat to public safety and law and order.
