Day-2 of NMC’s ‘Disham Mahila Melawa’ goes vivid, vibrant with drawings, traditional dances

Nagpur News: The Day-2 of “Disham,” the gathering of women entrepreneurs of the city, organized by NMC and being held at Kasturchand Park, went vivid and vibrant with 34 girls of various schools brushing the colourful drawings in the afternoon on Sunday. The topics for the drawing were “Nisarg” (Nature) and “Maza Avadta San” (My favourite festival). The judges selected the first, the second and the third best paintings with Damini Kalambe bagging the First Prize, Shalini Gaur receiving the Second Prize and Kimti Shukla gaining the Third Prize.

All the three girls were presented awards and certificates by Ashvini Jichkar, Chairperson of NMC’s Women and Children’s Welfare Committee and Prof Pramod Pendke, President of Maitri Parivar. The judges were Amdapure and Misal. The programme was compered by Social Welfare Officer Sudha Iraskar.

The evening witnessed mesmerizing “Lokrang Avishkar” based on Indian traditional dances presented by “Mi Navrangi Nar Group.” The traditional dances “Gondhal”, “Lavni”, “Mashal” left the audience spell bound and foot-tapping. Similarly, Tug-of-War and Musical Chair contests were also held for women in the “Disham Mahila Melawa”.

Those who were present in the programmes of Day-2 include Mayor Anil Sole, Ruling Party Leader Pravin Datke, Corporator Sandeep Joshi, Laxmi Yadav and others. Nandu Sontakke conducted the programmes.

A total of more than 5000 people visited the gathering on Sunday.

The “Disham Mahila Melawa,” gathering of women entrepreneurs, was inaugurated by the “Dream Girl” Hema Malini on Saturday.
