Delhi: Aspirant of Civil Service Examination organised candle march near India Gatedemanding extra attempts in Civil Service Examination.

The issue is related to introduction of CSAT(civil service aptitude test) conducted by UPSC in civil service examination for selection of candidates in IAS,IPS,IFS,IRS etc. Due to frequent changes in exam pattern and syllabus done by UPSC during 2011-2015 in civil service exam lakhs of civil service aspirants especially from rural background and hindi medium were affected.many aspirants lost their valuable 4 attempts . however govt has not granted any compensatory attempts,as they have done in past (1972,1993) when changes were introduced in exam pattern.

Recently in 2018 Uttar Pradesh government and Orissa government has granted compensatory attempts due to changes introduced in state public service exam.

Due to CSAT exam the selection of students from hindi and other regional languages like Tamil Telugu etc declined drastically ,data as per UPSC report 2012 -2014. the Nigvekar committee set by UPSC in 2013 also found CSAT discriminatory towards students from regional languages and those from non engineering background.
BJP when came in power made CSAT qualifying.(Note: government granted 1 compensatory attempt in 2015 to students who lost their valuable attempt in 2011) but no compensatory attempts granted to students who lost their valuable 4(four) attempts between 2012-2015.

Due to this dreams of lakhs of civil service aspirants especially from rural background have been shattered.
More than 200 Loksabha and Rajyasabha MP’S (member of parliament) have supported our issue ,they have also written letters to DOPT (Department of personnel and Training) to provide compensatory attempts to aggrieved aspirants.

On several occasions MP’S have raised questions in parliament regarding our issues even media has covered the issue but no satisfactory reply has been given by government.

Many central government ministers have given us assurance of resolving our grievance but no concrete announcement is made till date.

Now after this news students from across India has joined hands to seek justice from central government .
various peaceful protest have been organised at Mukherjee Nagar (Delhi) , jantarmantar in past.
