Crude Oil Surge Hits Oil-Sensitive Stocks

On Thursday, during intraday trading, shares of oil marketing companies, aviation firms, paint manufacturers and tyre makers fell by around 1-5 per cent.

The decline was attributed to a surge in crude oil prices amid renewed concerns over supply disruptions in the Middle East.

Shares of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd were among the major losers.

Brent crude climbed above $102 a barrel.
