CR’s Nagpur Divn too extends facility of online booking of unreserved tickets

Nagpur: The Nagpur Division of Central Railway is extended the passengers facility of online booking of unreserved (general) tickets. The facility will start from Friday. Interestingly, the facility was already introduced by Nagpur Division of South East Central Railway (SECR) six months back.

A new mobile application will enable booking and cancellation of unreserved tickets among other facilities. The application which is called ‘UTS’ (unreserved ticketing app) has been developed by Centre for Railway Information System (CRIS) and it can be used by both Android and Windows phones. To download the app from one can go to GooglePlay Store or Windows store free of cost.

Through this UTS mobile app, online booking of unreserved tickets could be done for passenger, Mail/Express trains starting from Nagpur or passing through the city. First the passenger will have to get registered by providing his/her mobile number, name, city, default booking train type, class, ticket type, number of passengers and frequently traveling routes.

Upon successful registration, Railway Wallet (R-Wallet) will be created automatically with zero balance to the passenger. There will be no extra cost for creating R-Wallet. The charging of R-Wallet through this app will also provide Rs 5 bonus to the passengers.

The facility will not only save time of passengers but they will be spared of standing in long queues at ticket windows.
