Can you believe that the RTO office in the city sold out the registration number ‘9999’ (whose numerical total it ‘9’ again, the most auspicious number as per Vedic astrology as well as numerology) sold out for Rs 1.5 lakh? This number was purchased by a city-based renowned doctor, Surekha Pofali for her newly bought Mercedez Bez with stunning cost of Rs 1,00,00,000.
It may be mentioned that in order to generate hefty revenue for government exchequer, the RTOs sell out the auspicious numbers to the vehicle-owner fans for two to three lakh rupees. The much sought-after registration numbers were sold out by RTO office during 1 April 2014 to 31 March, 2015, generating the revenue of Rs 61,10,500 which includes the special registration number whose cost ranges from Rs 2000 to Rs 2.5 lakh. Only 3 vehicle-owners paid Rs1.5 lakh for their crazy numbers, constributing Rs 4.5 lakh to government exchequer.
In addition, as many as 57 vehicle-owners paid Rs 22,500 each, 72 vehicle-owners paid Rs 15,000 each and 76 vehicle-owners paid Rs 7,500 each while
