A corner of the mega Krishi Vasant, the biggest ever Agri Expo the Orange City is hosting, turned bloody over a trivial matter.

According to police, the complainant Kalyan Chimaji Vaidya (30), resident of Jamkhed, Ambal in Jalna district and the accused Amol Narayan Sonavane (27), resident of Dahipuri, Ambal in Jalna district, had come to Nagpur to attend Krishi Vasant being held from February 9 to 13.

Both Kalyan and Amol boarded bus at Krishi Vasant Parking near Khapri on Wardha Road for their return journey to Jalna. However, the bus was delayed as two more persons of the same bus had not arrived. Kalyan Vaidya explained this delay to Agriculture Assistant Patil. The trivial explanation enraged Amol Sonavane, who in a moment of anger, attacked a person of Kalyan’s town, Baliram Pandhare with a knife and inflicted deep injuries on chest and stomach of Baliram with clear intention to kill him. The accused Amol also injured and abused other passengers of the bus with choicest words. The profusely bleeding Baliram was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). Kalyan Vaidya lodged a complaint with Sonegaon police against the accused Amol Sonavane in this connection. The Sonegaon Senior PSI Bansod booked the accused under Sections 307, 324, 504 and Sub-Section 135 of the IPC and arrested Amol Sonavane. Further probe is on.
