Cops directed to ensure safety, security during New Year celebrations

kurve nd bawankuleNagpur: Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Tuesday directed the District Administration and city police to enforce tight safety and security measures on the eve of New Year celebrations. “The authorities concerned must ensure that no untoward incident takes place during the celebrations and the event passes peacefully,” stressed Bawankule while reviewing a high-level meeting of officials.

The review meeting, held at Bijlinagar, was attended among others by District Collector Sachin Kurve, Joint Commissioner of Police Rajwardhan and other district administration officials.

“The citizens, while enjoying celebrations for farewell to 2015 and welcoming 2016, should also extend their cooperation to district administration. They should report occurring of any untoward incident to police immediately for ensuring perfect law and order situation. At the same the New Year celebrations should not create hassles for others,” exhorted Bawankule.

Those cherishing the New Year celebrations, specifically the younger generations, at Tenangkhedi, Futala and at other important spots, should restrain themselves. Further, it is absolutely necessary to see that vehicular traffic is not affected during the celebrations. Police should also ensure that the common people and the revellers are not put to trouble of any sort, said the Guardian Minister.

Bawankule said that as precautionary measures the Government as well as private hospitals should be in readiness to deal with any eventuality.
