Spurious liquor worth Rs 2.52 lakh seized

liquor seizedNagpur: Officials of State Excise and Police Department, in a joint action, raided dens in Umred and Kuhi areas and seized illegal and spurious liquor and other material worth Rs 2.52 lakh. The raids were carried out on Pardhi community localities in Vadad, Champa, and Dahegaon.

The action was initiated under the directives of Commissioner of State Excise Department Vijay Singhal and District Superintendent Swati Kakde with the cooperation of Umred Sub-Divisional Police Officer Shankarsingh Rajput.

Those officials who participated in the raids include Excise Inspectors S S Gujar, C J Gawande, Assistant Inspector Pravin Mohatkar, Narendra Gaidhane, and others. The police officials who accompanied included Gandhewar, Gurnule, Ghodke, and PSIs Mulgir, Gadamode and Dahelkar.

Offences under Maharashtra Prohibition Act were registered against the accused.
