Cops bust sex racket at posh Hotel Siddhant in Sitabuldi; two arrested, two girls rescued

Crime Branch of Nagpur on Thursday busted a sex racket in Sitabuldi area and arrested two persons on the charges of forcing girls into flesh trade. Two girls have also been rescued and sent to remand home. The Crime Branch received a tip-off that a flesh trade is being run at Hotel Siddhant, situated near Manas Chowk, Tekdi Road in Sitabuldi. After confirming the information, a team of Social Security Cell raided the Hotel and arrested Amar Premdas Deshbhratar (30), resident of Bhagwan Nagar, near Bank of Maharashtra and Ramesh Bakelal Gupta (22), resident of Model Mill Chawl, Ganeshpeth. The team also rescued two girls who were forced into flesh trade with the lure of ‘big’ money. The two girls have been sent to Karuna Remand Home for rehabilitation. Cops have seized cash and other material collectively worth Rs 3,000 from the two arrested accused.

The detailed investigation revealed that the accused Amar Deshbhratar used to lure the girls with money and drop them at Hotel Siddhant by cars. Thereafter, the other accused Ramesh Gupta, working as Manager of the Hotel, would provide rooms to the girls for flesh trade.

An offence under Sections 3, 4, 5, 7 of Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act 1956 has been registered against the accused.

The raid and further action was carried out by Police Inspector B M Powar, Senior PSI A P Jaipurkar, S M Patil, constables Pandurang Nikure, Prakash Sidam, Gopal Vaidya, Ajay Ghatod, Sanjay Pande, Woman Police Constables Anita Dhurve, Asmita Meshram, and others under the directives of Additional Police Commissioner (Crime) Deepali Masirkar.
