dfgdfNagpur: Mystery shrouded the death of a cop as his body was found lying in a parked police van in Police Line Takli area of the city on Thursday. The policeman had come to Nagpur from Hinganghat for duty during the Winter Session of Maharashtra Legislature beginning from December 8. The deceased has been identified as 45-year old Sudhakar Ganthade, a native of Wardha.

Sensation gripped the Police Line Takli area on Thursday morning when some policemen discovered Suresh Ganthade lying dead in the police van. Gittikhadan Police Inspector Anil Bonde said the exact cause of Head Constable Ganthade’s death could not be immediately ascertained. The post-mortem, being conducted at Mayo Hospital, would throw more light on Ganthade’s mysterious death.pi bonde gitikhadan

Lata Vijayrao Ganthade, a Nagpur-based relative of Sudhakar said she came to the city from Amravati by the morning passenger train. After reaching Nagpur, she phoned Sudhakar but he said he is not in Hinganghat but in Nagpur. Sudhakar had asked for tiffin box as there were allegedly no proper food and housing arrangements for policemen prior to the Winter Session. Sudhakar had also told Lata that he was sleeping a police van. However, when Lata again phoned Sudhakar, he did not respond even after tow-three calls. But she received a call from some policemen at about 9 am and they informed her that Sudhakar was lying dead in the van.lata vijayrao ganthade - reletive
