Nagpur: Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) President Uddhav Thackeray and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde may face each other for the first time in the State Legislature during Winter Session in Nagpur after their bitter break-up in June.

Uddhav Thackeray had given the Monsoon Session of the State Legislature a miss. The Winter Session in Nagpur is his first State Legislature session after the collapse of the MVA Government in June this year. Uddhav Thackeray arrived in Nagpur on Monday evening and held a meeting with MVA leaders in Vidhan Sabha.

The Winter Session of the Maharashtra Legislature began on Monday in Nagpur at a time when the Eknath Shinde-led Government has been on the receiving end over the border dispute with Karnataka and the BJP has been dealing with Governor Koshyari’s ‘derogatory’ remarks on Shivaji. Due to Covid-19 pandemic, the session could not be held in Nagpur for the past two years.

Thackeray was welcomed at the Nagpur Airport on Monday by Shiv Sena workers. An office-bearer of the Shiv Sena (UBT) faction said thousands of workers turned up to welcome the party chief.
