CM constitutes committee to make policy to prevent illegal constructions in state

Social-Media-PolicyNagpur News: Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan has constituted a committee to make a policy to prevent and curtail illegal construction in residential areas in the state on June 19, 2014.

The committee is said to include the Commissioner of Maharashtra State Development Corporation Limited, Mumbai, Managing Director of City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO), Commissioners of Municipal Corporations of Thane, Nagpur, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune, Ulhasnagar, Aurangabad, Chairman of Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT), CEO of Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), Commissioner of Greater Mumbai Municipal Corporation, Joint Secretary and Manager of Planning Committee, CEOs of Ichalkaranji, Pulgaon & Badlapur, Secretary and members of Maharashtra City Planning Committee, Secretary of Pune City Planning Committee will also be Member as well as Secretary of the Committee.

According to Chief Minister of Maharashtra Prithviraj Chavan, he said that this policy will prevent and curtail illegal construction. He said that this will be an effective way of stopping illegal constructions and encroachments. This policy will ensure in giving advance notice and declaring a particular site or construction as illegal so that innocent and gullible people do not get hoodwinked. This will be beneficial for residential areas and in preventing illegal constructions.
