CM allots 50 acre land to Sanskrit University

sanskrit-university-nagpurNagpur: The chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced to provide 50 acres of land for expansion of Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University, Ramtek. The land has been given near Kaladongri, Nagpur.

The University had requested the government for allotment of land for expansion purpose.

Fadnavis made the announcement while speaking with the media on the sidelines of Kalidas Mahotsav, which was inaugurated by him.

Former prime minister P V Narsimha Rao had in the year 1997 inaugurated Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University in Ramtek. The university will be governed from Ramtek itself, said CM. Only for the expansion and construction of new educational departments, a 50 acres land has been allotted in Nagpur.

Fadnavis informed that the university had requested land for expansion purpose and same has been allotted by the government. Ramtek has a model college and research centre. Similarly, there will be a language hub, library of Sanskrit, Pali and other languages in Nagpur. It may be noted here that students from all over the country come to Kalidas university for studies.

In response to the university’s request for provision of more land, the government has provided the land for the same in Nagpur, informed Fadnavis.

The chief minister suggested to take the detailed report about the expansion from education minister Vinod Tawde. Due to busy schedule, the chief minister could not attend the Kalidas Sanskrit University Parishad. However, divisional commissioner Anoop Kumar handed over the circular of the 50 acres land to the Vice Chancellor of the Kalidas University Dr Uma Vaidya.
