Nagpur: The cleansing-drive of Gandhisagar Lake in the city was held by the NMC officials with public participation on July 3, 2015, Friday, from 7 am to 9 am, said a press release issued by PRO, NMC. It was the third phase of cleansing drive.
The first phase of the drive was held on June 12, 2015 in the prominent presence of NMC Mayor Praveen Datke, NMC Commissioner Shravan Hardikar and others.
The second phase of the drive was held on June 19 under public support in which all NMC officials and people of the area had participated.
During the cleansing drive of III phase, the lake was cleansed in terms of removal of garbage from its vicinity, removal of soil from steps and unwanted vegetation from the vicinity.
Those who participated in the drive included former corporator Manoj Sable, fire officer Rajendra Uchake, Anil Kadu, D N Umredkar, Nandkishor Bhovate, Sanjay Gore, Sambare, Dharamraj Nakode and other NMC officials.
Addressing the public, NMC officials appealed to them that they should keep a watch that no one should drop garbage in the lake vicinity.
