City to host fashion show of cancer survivors for Breast Cancer Awareness

25 percent of total cancer patients in the world suffer from  Breast Cancer and come to know about it in the later stage. If the women during the age 40-45 go through the mammography test, the cancer can be detected early and treated for early relief, said Dr Ajay Mehta of Central India Cancer Research Institute while briefing the press on Thursday, September 18.

Central India Cancer Research Institute  and Sadhna Charitable Trust, which have been working for betterment of cancer patients, will be conducting a scientific and cultural sessions to spread breast cancer awareness from October 18-19.

The event will also have people who have survived from cancer taking part in cancer  survivors fashion show on October 18.The Special program will have cancer survivors with no age bar, coming from all strata of society participate and motivate self as well as other cancer patients to lead a normal and positive life, informed Dr Suchitra Mehta.

The organizers want to reach out to the people and create awareness of the Breast Cancer, so that prevention and timely treament could be given to the patients.

October month is celebrated as “Breast Cancer Awareness” month all over the world.

Health Care Global (HCG) and Cancer Hospital and Research Institute will also organize  “ Breast Cancer Update” on October 19, 2014 at Hotel Radisson Blue. Stalwarts in the field of Oncology will participate and discuss various aspects of Breast Cancer management.

To encourage and motivate Post Graduate students to take up the challenging branch of Oncology, the organizers have also arranged for “Quiz on Breast Cancer”. Teams of all the medical colleges of Vidarbha would be participating for the Trophy. Poster competition on “ Breast Cancer Awareness” is arranged for the undergraduate medical students.

The Public Awareness lecture on “Breast Cancer” is planned  at 4pm at the conference venue on  October 18 . Organizers have requested doctors and Post Graduate Medical students to take advantage of this opportunity and register at the earliest. Registration is complimentary, but mandatory.
