From Rubeka’s Kitchen: Chicken Momos

Momos is a type of dumpling native to Tibet, traditionally. It is similar to Chinese baozi and jiaozi, In Nepal and bordering regions of India. Momos are served hot with tomato and sesame sauce usually seasoned with ground peanut, Sichuan pepper (timur), and cilantro.

Ingredients:
20 gms Garlic [fine chop]
20 gms Onion [fine chop]
30 gms Cabbage [fine chop]
20 gms Ginger [fine chop]
250 gms chicken [minced]
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp vinegar
Salt and Pepper to taste
1 tsp Ajinomoto [optional]
1 egg
200 gms Maida
Oil as needed.

Method:
Stuffing:

Boil the Minced Chicken. Rinse it and keep aside.
Make a soft Dough with a pinch of salt from Maida. keep aside n let it rest.
Meanwhile take a sauce pan on the high flame.
Pour around 2-3 tbsp oil, heat the oil and add Onion, Garlic, Ginger, cabbage and stir well. Keep stirring.
add Boiled Minced Chicken, Soy sauce and vinegar.
add salt, pepper and ajinomoto.
Take it off from the flames and keep it aside.

Momos:
Roll out the dough into a circle and put a bit of stuffing at the middle and cover it from all the sides. Put an egg wash over it.

Heat the steamer and put the Momos into it.
Serve Hot with Garlic sauce and Enjoy
