Nagpur: Under the voter awareness campaign, a ‘Cake Party’ was organised at The Institute of Engineers, Shankar Nagar, on Sunday. During the programme renowned chef Vishnu Manohar made a 15×5 feet cake for the young and first-time voters.
Commissioner of Police Dr Ravinder Singal also was present on the occasion. Dr Singal inaugurated the programme. The programme was held to reach youth who will vote for the first-time in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Chef Vishnu Manohar is nominated as ‘SVEEP Icon’ by Dr Vipin Itankar, District Collector and District Election Officer, to create awareness among the new voters. Dr Singal encouraged the attendees to exercise their right to vote, and also mentioned that various initiatives are held to raise voting awareness.
The youths who attended the event cut the cake along with the dignitaries and cheered ‘Mera Vote, Desh Ke Liye’. The chef was assisted by Aditi Deshpande, Megha Darbeshwar, and Pravagya Wade. Vijay Jathe conducted the programme.
