Chain snatchers gang of six including 3 minors held

Nagpur News : Chain snatchers gang of six youths including three minors was nabbed by city crime branch police on Saturday. The youths, aged 17 to 20 years, has confessed of committing 7 chain snatching cases in the city in last few months.

Indora resident Aakash Chandankhede and Bezonbagh resident Surj Kawre, both 19, Akshay Indurkar, 22, a resident of Panchasheel Nagar, were arrested while their three minor partners were shifted to remand home.

Besides the accused, police has also arrested their relatives who were involved in selling the stolen gold ornaments. Police has also arrested Buddha Nagar residence Roshan Chandankhede, 29, young married couple- Pranay and Pallavi Indurkar of Panchasheel Nagar, Hudco Colony resident Pramila Gill, Kailash Jambhulkar of Indora and Dhiraj Wankhede of Samta Nagar.

The youths have confessed of committing chain snatchings in Jaripatka, Lakadganj, Sonegaon, Sadar and Pachpaoli police station areas. So far, police has seized four bikes and 30 gram gold worth Rs 3 lakhs from the group.
