Disposing of a petition pertaining to Chandrapur Medical College on Wednesday, the division bench comprising Justice Bhushan Gavai and Justice Indira Jain on Nagpur Bench of Mumbai High Court, directed the Central government to recognize the Chandrapur Medical College in a week’s time.
It may be mentioned here that a petition pertaining to recognition of Chandrapur Medical College by the Central government was filed before the honourable court about a fortnight ago. It was the outcome of public demand over a long period of time.
In consequence to the high court directives, it will now be mandatory on the part of the Central government to recognize the establishment of ultra-modern medical college and hospital with 300 beds and 100 medical seats at Chandrapur.
Present during the disposal of the petition were advocates representing the state government, Central government and Medical Council of India.
