Central Railway tightens rope around TWT passengers!

Nagpur: The ticket-checking staff of Central Railway under the guidance of CR divisional rail manager O P Singh and Sr divisional commerce manager K K Misra tightened rope against passengers travelling without ticket (TWT)/ irregular travel, during April 1 to June 30, 2015.
Checking as many as 89,372 cases under the drive, the railways recovered Rs 4.14 crore as penalty from them for TWT and irregular travel. During the last year, as many as 82,007 cases were checked and Rs 3.71 crores were recovered. This year’s recovery is 11.3% more as compared to last year’s recovery which was 9.0%.

Similarly, the Nagpur division recovered Rs 10.842 lakhs from 8,438 cases of un-booked goods between April 1 and June 30, 2015. This recovery is 15.6% higher than last year’s recovery as Rs 8.51 lakhs from 6,591 cases.
This year’s TWT recovery is Rs 1.21 crores from 22,402 cases during April 1 and June 30, 2015, informed a press release issued by R D Patil, PRO, C Rly, Nagpur
