Nagpur News Today: City’s Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) might be one among eight in the country to have a Regional Paramedical Institute in its premises. Everything depends on an inspection by a team from the Central government, which will be visiting GMCH on September 29.

The Institute was originally supposed to have been opened in Aurangabad, but couldn’t due to technical reasons. GMCH has both the campus and the manpower required for such an institute. The inspection team will look at the infrastructure, mannerisms and facilities of the hospital, among other things. It will also gauge whether the hospital is need of more support staff.

If established, the Nagpur centre will be headquarters for Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa. Dean Dr. Rajaram Powar said that Rs. 85 crores have been accepted for the project.
