Mumbai: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered an FIR and begun its probe into the death of Disha Salian. While the FIR has given the case a new turn, the name of Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray has not been mentioned as an accused. The FIR refers to the accused as “unknown persons”.
The CBI registered the FIR based on a petition filed in the Bombay High Court. Meanwhile, in his statement, Disha Salian’s father, Satish Salian, expressed suspicion about Aaditya Thackeray, actor Sooraj Pancholi, Dino Morea and some other individuals. He has also alleged that Disha was sexually assaulted and murdered.
However, merely being named in a statement does not make a person an accused. The CBI will examine these allegations and the possible role of the individuals concerned. Further legal action will be taken only if concrete evidence is found during the investigation. Attention is now focused on the findings of the CBI probe.
