Case registered against accused demanding Hafta

Nagpur: Kalamna Police has registered a case against the accused who were demanding extortion (Hafta) money from a gambling club in Kalamna area.
The accused include 1. Father Joseph Babar aged 45 years and a resident of Chandranagar, Kalamna, 2. Jagdish Lanjewar aged 28 years a resident of Pardi and 5-6 other co-accused.

According to police sources, Gajanan Uikey aged 30 and a resident of Ligaon, Kamptee used to run a gambling club ion Ligaon. The accused including Father Joseph Babar and Jagdish Lanjewar were threatening the victim Gajanan Uikey on the phone. Sources claimed that the accused Father Joseph Babar and Jagdish Lanjewar and some other co-accused had called him to a restaurant and had injured him in an attack recently.

On the basis of the complaint lodged by the victim Gajanan Uikey, Kalamna Police has registered a case against the accused and is investigating further.
