Car slips into pit dug for Metro Rail near Nagpur airport!

Metro Rail Corporation Limited is taking due care to avoid any accidents as its mega project is on right in the middle of the road. However on Monday, first Metro Rail related accident was reported on Wardha road.

A driver of speeding car lost control over the steering wheel causing the car to fell in the pit of Metro Rail project at Wardha road on Monday. The driver of the car Dushank Kaushik (24) got injured in the accident. He was going from Wardha road at 3 am. Similarly, Metro Rail project was underway towards the turning to airport and the concerned driver broke the barricades and the car fell into a construction site pit. However, the pit was filled with centering , hence the car did not fell deep in the pit. But the centering of the pit got damaged due to the accident.

Soon after the accident, the Metro safety personnel reached the spot and informed the Sonegaon police about the accident. The police immediately reached the spot and rushed Kaushik to hospital for treatment. According to information, the street lights were not functioning during the night and Kaushik could not see the construction site and met with an accident. Earlier also accidents have occurred at Metro construction sites and the administration has not taken any concrete steps to avoid these accidents.

The injured Kaushik works in private firm and was going to dhaba during the time of accident. On the basis of complaint by Metro Rail Project officer Shailendra Tiwari, Sonegaon police have registered a case against Kaushik for negligence driving.
