Burglary in Kotwali area: Goods worth Rs 2, 33, 500 stolen

Nagpur: Burglars looted a house in Kotwali area. Between 10 am of August 10, 2015 and 9 pm of August 23, 2015, the victim Mangala Shrinivas Palorkar aged 62 years and a resident of a house behind Mahajan Wada, Tulsibagh Mahal, had gone to her native place, when some unidentified burglar gained entry into her house using the neighbour’s house roof and coming down using a ladder. The burglar had gained entry by breaking the lock on the rear door of her house.

The thieves using their prior knowledge of the probable places where the women of the house keep their valuables, removed the gold ornaments and cash of Rs 16,000/- in all worth Rs 2, 33, 500 (Rupees Two lakhs thirty three thousand five hundred) kept in a tin box in the house.

On the basis of the complaint lodged by the victim, Police Sub Inspector Dharmejwar of Kotwali Police Station has registered a case under sections 454, 457, 380 of Indian Penal Code and is investigating further.
