Burglars target house in a big way, rob owner of booty worth Rs 8.20 lakh in Wadi

Burglars targeted a house in Wadi area in a big way by robbing the owner of booty including cash to the tune of Rs 8.20 lakh. The thieves struck the house between May 1 and 4 when the owner had gone out of station. Cops have mounted a search to nab the offenders.

The victim, Rajkumar Niranjanlal Satvekar (40), resident of Ambedkar Nagar, Chandramani Square, Wadi, along with family members had gone to Madhya Pradesh for attending marriage ceremony of their relative. The Satvekar family had left the house in the morning of May 1. Taking advantage of situation, some unidentified burglars targeted the house. The thieves entered the house by breaking open the main door lock and searched for valuables. The miscreants found cash of Rs 8 lakh and a gold chain worth Rs 20,000 kept in a wooden Divan and decamped with the booty. The burglary came to notice when the Satvekar family returned home on May 4 and found the valuables missing.

Wadi API Shinde, acting on a complaint of Rajkumar Satvekar, registered an offence against the burglars under Sections 454, 457, 380 of IPC and mounted a search to nab them.
